I had a nice phone hour long conversation with my paternal aunt and uncle last night. They are just terrific people.I am headed up there on July 1st for some golf and lunch with them.
B. invited me to stay over at her house that night and I might take her up on it. I am weird about sleeping over places…I prefer staying at hotels or motels so I can get some space.
I am headed down to the Cape Cod Melody Tent tonight to see Blondie which hopefully will be fun. I get a little depressed when I see bands that I enjoyed in my youth at the Cape Cod Melody Tent…it is a clear signal that I am not as young as I used to be! Another downer is that we are looking for a place to have an “early dinner”…and we were all arguing over who is driving. One person actually said they don’t drive well at night! I finally offered up my car but someone else has to drive.
How different from my youth. We certainly didn’t care about food in those days. I remember going out to various Boston nightclubs and we didn’t even start getting ready to go out until 10:00 p.m. We were way too cool and things didn’t get hopping until at least 11:00 p.m…
Some of it seems silly. Shaving our heads into mohawks, piercing our ears with a needle and ice cube, ripping up clothes and my all time favorite…my friend who used to wear her underwear over her clothes. She was pretty wild! I remember she once lit her acrylic nails on fire on the dance floor…and waved them over her head while she danced.
There was also the time I went and saw the new wave group Human Sexual Response. I was standing on the speaker with some girl I didn’t know and one thing led to another. K-razy!
And I think there was even some slam dancing going on.
So as I am enjoying my early bird special tonight, I’ll think back to those days. Of course, I need to decide if I want the soup or salad first!

I remember staying out at the clubs till they closed at 2 and then getting up at 6 for work. Now I’m in bed at 9:30 to get up at 5:30, oh how old 43 sometimes feels… What happened to that energetic party girl *grin* Have a great time!

OMG. I used to go out all night. Close the bars, hit the diner for breakfast, and head into work at 6. I would then brush my teeth, change my clothes (I kept a change of clothes in my car) and then get to my desk.
Guh.
These days I just want SLEEP and I am only 40!!!!
